Irish Soda Bread
10min for preparation and 30min baking time, I can live with that!
The recipe is Irish Soda Bread from Titli Nihaan. Instead of wheat flour I used spelt flour. The soda is actually cheaper in the pharmacy than it is in the supermarket, larger packages aren’t even available any longer.
The smell and taste are very unusual, especially if you are used to sour dough breads and the like. It tastes very intense and also rather salty. The smell reminds me of Soletti. The bread is probably not very suitable for jam but it is a great accompaniment for soups and stews, just as Titly stated. This type of bread is not comparable to the types of breads you can buy in the alpine region, everyone has to decide for themselves if this bread is to their taste, but the fluffy and soft texture is really great.
